Ripley Race League

Unlimited timed Giant Slalom racing on select weeknights if enough interest. If interested, reach out to alpineskiteam@mtu.edu.

Cost:

Nightly rate of $15.00

Seasonal rate of $60.00.

Fees will be collected prior to racing each race night and may be paid using either cash or check. Checks may be made out to “Michigan Tech Alpine.”

Results will be provided for the following categories.

Nightly Team Results: Teams would be able to register in groups of 5 with a minimum of 3. The top 3 skiers’ combined place points determining the winning team for each race night.

Nightly Individual Results: Each individual’s combined first two finishing times will be counted. Individuals do not have to be members of a team to participate and obtain individual awards. Skiers who are members of teams will be eligible for individual awards.

Season Team Results: Each team’s place points will be added up throughout the season. Any race missed will be counted as the total number of teams registered as of March 3 plus one point. For final results, the points from each team’s top five individual results will be added together with low points winning. In the event of a tie, the sixth result will be added. The top
three winning teams will receive an award.

Season Individual Results: Each individual’s place points will be added together from each race. Any race missed will be counted as the total number of individuals registered as of February 25 plus one point. For final results, the points from each individual’s top five results will be added together, with lowest points winning. In the event of a tie, the fifth result will be added, etc. Any remaining tie will be broken at the discretion of the Alpine Ski Team Executive Board. The top three individuals for male and the top three results for female will be awarded.

Categories

Teams may be comprised of both males and females as well as skiers and snowboarders. Individual results will be divided out between male and female. Individuals may only participate on one team. However, the Alpine Ski Team Executive Board may add further categories such as snowboarding, youth, or seniors if there is enough interest.
